Letter of the Week

"Pp Bb Rr"

April Theme: Moving On

Shape: Oval

Color: Pink

Bible Verse: “Be generous and ready to share” 1 Timothy 6:18

Indoor Activities:
*Letter(s) of the week- “P, B and R”. Fill your alphabet bag with 3 things that begin with “P, B and R”.
*Writing-Practice writing your first and last name daily. Use upper case followed by lower case.
*Moving Rainbow - Take a paper towel and cut it in half length wise (rectangle shape). Use markers to color rainbow stripes (wide) at each end of the paper towel, 1-1 1/2 inch in length.  Put each end in a small bowl of water. Watch the rainbow spread. Fill out sheet and tell me how it moved.
*Color Mixing- Our pastel color this week is “pink”. How can you make the color pink? What 2 colors do you need to make pink? Fill out the “recipe” sheet. Tell what ingredients (colors) you need to make pink. Also draw something pink on your sheet.
*Make a Marble Maze - Create a marble maze

*Pirate Ship Shape Patterns- Copy, finish and color patterns on the pirate ship
*What Rolls?- What can roll? See what items can roll and which ones can’t

*Playdough Shapes- What can you make that “moves” with our shape mats? Is a triangle a kite? A rectangle a train? An oval a balloon? You can add items found to your shapes to help you create things that move. Some item suggestions are pipe cleaners, yarn/string, twigs or maybe small rocks for wheels. Have fun. (shape mats can be put in a clear protective sleeve to be used over and over again)

*Playdough Recipe

*Beginning Sounds-Color each picture and the letter circle (bottom of each picture) that the pictured object begins with.

Outdoor Activities
*Ride Your Bike- Go for a bike or scooter ride.
*Chalk Writing- Draw a picture of you and your mom on your driveway or side walk. Maybe draw the two of you hugging, playing together, reading a book or going on a walk.
*Shape & Color Hopscotch- 1) Simply draw or cut out various shapes in different colors in a grid pattern (When you are drawing/ cut out the shapes, keep in mind that your kiddo will have to able to make it from one end to the other. So you will have to have like colors and/or shapes close enough together to make this possible.) 2) Draw a start line and a finish line. 3) Call out
either a shape or a color and your little one has to hop from the start line to the finish line by only touching the number or the color that you called out. ** You can trace shapes on construction paper & have your child cut them out.

*Cloud Watching- What do you see when you look at the clouds? Do clouds move? Do you see shapes, animals or cars. After you cloud watch draw what you saw.

*Shadow Trace- Use your chalk to trace the shadows on your driveway. Put items out and see how their shadow changes as the sun “moves” throughout the day. Some items you could use are balls, bottles, scooter, a bike or potted plants.

*Water bottle Bowling- Set up 6 water bottles in a triangle. Use different size balls to knock
them down. Which ball knocked all of them down the easiest? Which ball was too light? For extra fun you can put a drop or two of food coloring (different colors) in each bottle.
*Story Time-Take you favorite book(s) and a blanket outside. Find a special spot, under a tree or on your trampoline and set up your blanket to have reading time outside. Grayson loves story time outside!
